How Chronological Age is Determined

Calculating exact chronological age is more intricate than subtracting birth year from the current year. Because months have differing numbers of days (28, 29, 30, or 31) and leap years introduce an additional day every 4 years, an accurate calculation must borrow days from preceding months when subtraction yields negative values.

Calendar Borrowing Method

If Current Day < Birth Day:
• Borrow days from the previous month (e.g. 31 or 30 days)
